Team and Position Summary

We are a fast growing company seeking another Financial Planning Assistant to assist with that growth. As a high performing Financial Planning Assistant, you will be responsible for providing a consistently high level of support to Advisor(s) and clients in line with defined standards.

  • To assist Advisor(s) in the financial planning process and the management of client and prospect relationships
  • To enable Advisor(s) to meet and exceed their business plan objectives by retaining and growing the team’s high net worth clients
  • To provide a high level of personalized client service
  • To follow all corporate and regulatory standards

Key Accountabilities

  • Assist in the preparation and updating of financial plans including analysis, reports and recommendations keeping in mind client’s objectives, risk tolerance and resources
  • Assist in the preparation of investment portfolio reviews and rebalancing
  • Assist with insurance needs analysis and recommendations


  • Ensure that client reviews are handled and scheduled in accordance with NWM client service standards
  • Field client calls/emails on behalf of Advisor(s), handle client requests where appropriate and follow up to ensure requests are completed
  • Provide high level of administrative functions to maintain client service standards
  • Competency in NWM products and service offerings (within 6 months of obtaining position)
  • Competency in NWM financial planning concepts (within 6 months of obtaining position)
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and market knowledge

Qualifications and Experience

  • Completion of financial industry designation or in process of obtaining (CFP, CIM, CFA, CLU)
  • Completion of Life License Qualification Program (LLQP) or in process of obtaining
  • Minimum 5 years of related work experience, preferably in a financial planning firm with exposure to both insurance and investment planning
  • High proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada for any employer
